Falconer for the Day

A behind the scenes day with a falconer, starting at 9am with a quick tour, it is straight into the duties of preparing for the Centre opening at 10.00 to welcome the visiting public. The flying birds need fresh water/cleaning out and carrying out to the Falconry Lawn, before being weighed and prepared to be ready to fly. Food is prepared in the feed room for the day before you assist in the flying.

Lunch is taken (packed lunch provided) with the Falconers and then its all systems go with getting ready for the first demonstration. After the demonstration its then on to flying a hawk/owl etc and finishing the day at around 4.30 with putting the birds away to bed.
A great way to experience being a Falconer for the day.
